Did you know that Daffy has appeared in cartoon programmes such as Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies as an anthropomorphic black duck, and he is frequently shown as a counterpoint for Bugs Bunny. He was one among the first of the new "screwball" characters to appear in the late 1930s, replacing classic everyman figures like as Mickey Mouse and Popeye, who were more popular earlier in the decade.
